about imprint*

An art gallery with white walls displaying various artworks, including a large piece with bubbles and a flat artwork with textured brown fragments, and a mural on the right side depicting two elderly people on a mechanical lift.
Black and white photographs of a woman sleeping, their close-up images displayed on a yellow wall in a gallery or exhibition space.
A group of six people posing in front of a sign that reads 'ARTIST PARTY.' They are smiling, and some are making gestures, standing close together against a dark wall.
A group of people smiling and holding hands outdoors at night, with greenery and a streetlamp in the background.

imprint is a community arts programme in Gadigal, founded in 2025 as a site for collective gathering, experimentation, and cultural practice. It brings together artists, researchers, and creatives to share skills, host events, develop ideas, and build relationships across disciplines and ways of working.

imprint* is less an institution than an evolving infrastructure shaped by the people who use it. It supports practices that sit between research and making, conversation and action, offering space for both structured projects and open-ended exploration.

At its core, imprint* is committed to nurturing a resilient and independent cultural ecology grounded in care, shared responsibility, and mutual respect. It values openness, accessibility, and collaboration, and seeks to create conditions where diverse practices can coexist, intersect, and grow over time.

The girl has a relaxed expression and is wearing a pink shirt. There are some garden plants, a fence, and children's toys in the background.
