imprint* education

At Imprint, we believe that a strong arts education should empower young creatives to think critically, communicate visually, and build confidence in their own artistic voice. Our tutoring and portfolio services are designed to support high school students who want to push their creative and academic work further.

Through one-on-one sessions, we provide personalised guidance in visual arts, art theory, and essay writing, helping students not only achieve higher marks but also develop a deeper understanding of contemporary art practice. For those preparing for university or art school applications, our portfolio reviews offer detailed feedback on concept development, presentation, and visual storytelling. Whether you’re refining a body of work or shaping a new one, Imprint helps you present your creativity with clarity, intention, and individuality.

Who we help.

Students who:
Want to improve marks in Visual Arts / Photography / Design
Feel creatively blocked or unsure how to develop ideas
Need help articulating concepts and writing artist statements
Want portfolio support for tertiary pathways

Parents who:
Are concerned about confidence, motivation, or academic performance
Want structured but creative learning
Looking for credible arts educators, not generic tutors

Concept-led learning

We begin with idea development and conceptual clarity so students produce work that is intentional, resolved, and academically strong rather than purely technical.

Individualised mentoring

Tutoring is tailored to each student’s interests, abilities, and curriculum requirements, allowing for focused feedback that accelerates both confidence and results.

Critical thinking & visual literacy

We teach students how to analyse, contextualise, and articulate their work and others’ with precision, strengthening written assessments and exam responses.

Process-driven development

Through ongoing feedback and reflection at every stage, students learn how to document, refine, and evolve their practice into a cohesive body of work.

  • "I would be happy to recommend Tom Craft as an academic and artistic tutor and mentor. Over the course of nearly 6 months throughout my Year 12 experience, Tom has given considerate, knowledgeable, and constructive feedback on work ranging from academic writing to the inner workings of unlocking one’s creative process. He always shows his passion, intelligence, and ability to think critically within a social and artistic context. His willingness to help and share relevant information never ceases. With this said, I am highly confident in his abilities and believe that Tom Craft would be an excellent help to anyone looking to take their arts education seriously.’

  • 'I couldn't recommend Tom Craft highly enough as an arts tutor. During my Year 12 HSC and first year of University, Tom delivered insightful, practical, and meaningful feedback on both my written analysis and physical body of work. He taught me how to think critically about concepts, research effectively, and present my ideas with confidence. Tom's support went beyond technique: he encouraged me to look outward, attend exhibitions, engage with contemporary art and refine the meaning behind each of my pieces. His professionalism, enthusiasm, and thoughtful mentoring made a real difference. I've come away stronger, more focussed and ready for the next step in my professional arts career.'
